Not every problem needs the machined aluminium answer. If the goal is simply to stop headphones lying on the desk collecting scratches, a moulded stand does it for a fraction of the cost and does it just as reliably.

This is moulded ABS rather than machined metal, which is the entire reason for the price difference. The job is identical: headphones hang upright, off the surface, in their natural shape, ready to grab.

The base is adhesive rather than weighted. That is a deliberate difference in approach — it fixes permanently to one spot, so unlike a free-standing stand it can never be knocked over, which on a desk that moves several times a day is worth something.

It stands 9.8 in tall in a 3.9 in square footprint, weighs almost nothing, and assembles in about a minute with nothing to align and nothing to over-tighten.
