Desk light that uses no desk.

A desk lamp lighting a screen setup creates two problems. It occupies surface you paid for, and it puts a reflection on your monitor — which you then work around by angling the lamp somewhere less useful.

A light bar sits on the top edge of the monitor and throws light downward and forward, onto the keyboard and whatever paper is in front of you. The geometry means no light ever reaches the screen face, so there is no reflection to work around. A lamp physically cannot do this.

The second gain is the one you notice over a long evening. Eye strain is largely caused by contrast — a bright screen surrounded by a dark room forces your pupils to keep readjusting. The automatic dimmer reads ambient light and raises output as daylight fades, holding the balance steady without you touching anything.

Two independently controlled zones let you light the desk and the area behind the screen separately. It runs on USB-C, adjusts from 10 to 100 percent, and tunes from 2700 K warm to 6500 K daylight. The weighted clip fits monitors 0.4 to 1.2 in thick and needs no tools.
